Wet-climate soils are found in the Mixedwood Plains. Due to the abundant precipitation, the soil goes through a leaching process, where excess rainfall washes down soluble organic materials. However, the flourishing vegetation in this ecozone quickly adds to the humus layer, making the soil very rich.

These soils are some of the nation's most fertile and productive soils. In fact, over 50% of Canada’s class one soil is found in this ecozone. This makes way for agricultural activity, which takes place in the Niagara Peninsula. Various fruits such as cherries, pears, peaches, grapes, and other fruits are grown here.
